A new cevelopment on this one is the executive order mandating a sustainable government (http://www.sustainablelifemedia.com/content/story/strategy/executive_order_mandates_sustainable_govt). With absolute emissions reductions, there is some credence to it, though most of the baselines are quite recent (i.e. 2007-08). However, as the article states, should the program prove successful, it will give the private sector a strong example.

Hey, do you know if the design for this oven is open-source? I have loads of sunshine, cardboard, and bread to bake. my friends have a solar oven, but would love to crank one out myself…and asssume this one must have some neat design features to make it work?

We are so close to an important shift – but seeing the far-right Limbaugh-types mobilizing the republicans in Congress, it seems we might miss a huge opportunity – they’re chanting the “no-spend, cut-taxes” mantra to stall the bill, to the detriment of us all at this critical, time-sensitive juncture.

Hi standardfuture, I’m in South Australia, and we had our railway service stopped because of the tracks buckling. I’ve never seen snow, it must be so beautiful, but should imagine incredibly cold to go with it. I’ve seen parts of Scotland on the net and different movies, it looks very beautiful.
We’ve actually just had our current heatwave extended again. When I got up this morning and noticed that I just sat laughing for awhile, guess the heat must be getting to me. Stay warm, I’m going to try and stay cool.
